Endorphin Speed vs Endorphin Pro: same name, very different shoe

The short answer: The Endorphin Speed has a nylon plate. The Endorphin Pro has a carbon fibre plate. The carbon plate makes the Pro stiffer, more propulsive, and suited to sustained race pace — but less comfortable for training. Most runners should start with the Speed. The Pro is for race day only.

The plate difference

Nylon plate (Speed): flexible, provides propulsion and energy return, forgiving enough for repeated training use.

Carbon plate (Pro): stiffer, more propulsive at sustained effort, but the rigidity makes it less comfortable at easy pace and harder on the legs over repeated training use.

Both shoes share

PWRRUN PB foam — Saucony's racing formulation. Both are fast. The difference is in what the plate adds to that foundation.

Can you use the Pro for training?

Technically yes. Practically — the carbon plate creates a stiffer ride that accumulates fatigue faster in the legs. Most runners who own both use the Speed for training and reserve the Pro for race day and key tempo sessions.
