Is the Saucony Guide good for flat feet?

The short answer: The Guide is the most commonly recommended Saucony model for runners with flat feet who have been advised to use a stability shoe. It provides medial post support without excessive structure, which most runners find comfortable over training distances.

What the Guide does

The Guide uses a firmer foam section on the inner side of the midsole — a medial post — to limit inward rolling of the foot. This supports runners whose feet collapse inward (overpronate) through the gait cycle.

Flat feet do not automatically mean you need the Guide

Many flat-footed runners pronate within normal range and run comfortably in neutral shoes. The Guide is appropriate when flat feet accompany genuine overpronation that causes discomfort or has been flagged by a specialist.

If you have never been told you overpronate and you run without foot, knee, or hip discomfort in neutral shoes — there is no reason to switch to the Guide.

Verdict
Guide is appropriate for flat-footed runners who overpronate and have been recommended a stability shoe. For flat-footed runners without overpronation issues, the Ride remains the right starting point.
