PWRRUN vs PWRRUN+: what is the difference?

The short answer: PWRRUN+ is softer and more cushioned than standard PWRRUN. Both provide energy return, but PWRRUN+ prioritises plushness over responsiveness. PWRRUN is in the Ride. PWRRUN+ is in the Triumph. If you want the softer of the two, buy the Triumph.

The technical difference

Both are proprietary Saucony foam formulations. PWRRUN+ is a softer variant of the base PWRRUN compound — more compliant underfoot, which means it compresses more on impact and provides a cushier landing. The trade-off is that it is slightly less reactive than PWRRUN — the energy return is comparable, but the initial feel is softer.

What this means for shoe choice

If you have tried the Ride and found it slightly too firm — PWRRUN+ (Triumph) is the upgrade. If you have tried the Ride and found it comfortable — PWRRUN is appropriate. If you want the most responsive foam Saucony makes — PWRRUN PB (Endorphin series).
